Adamma And Adanne Ebo Land Multi-Year Deal With 20th Television To Create Live-Action And Animated Series
The American-Nigerian Ebo twins, Adamma and Adanne, have inked an exciting multi-year overall deal with 20th Television and 20th Television Animation, Variety reports.
The filmmaking duo recently made their feature film debut at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival with “Honk for Jesus, Save Your Soul,” starring Regina Hall and Sterling K. Brown. The highly critically acclaimed film will be released in theaters and on Peacock September 2nd. They’ve also written for Amazon Prime Video’s forthcoming series “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.” Furthermore, Adamma directed an episode of Glover’s “Atlanta,” along with three episodes “Hive” from Glover and Amazon.
Currently, the twins are developing “Supashawty Girls, Funkamatic Bangbang” with 20th Television Animation for Freeform. The synopsis reads as follows: “Identical twins YEZE and TULE are your average college students—but at the first hint of bullshit they transform into the superheroines FUNKADELIC and BANGBANG, using their powers (and frequently misguided efforts) to save a futuristic world that honestly…doesn’t always deserve to be saved.”
“20th continues to be flexible in an ever-evolving TV landscape, while supporting various creative sensibilities,” the Ebo twins told Variety. “And as creators with a non-stop running list of ideas, we’re super hype to have studio partners who are just as committed to adding and challenging the television cultural zeitgeist in both animation and live-action.”
Carolyn Cassidy, the executive vice president of 20th Television, spoke about the studio’s admiration for Adamma and Adanne’s work. “Their talent and original storytelling as comedy creators and directors is undeniable and aligns perfectly with our vision to develop and bring innovative and dynamic comedic stories to all of our platform partners. It was a bonus to find out they’re also longtime Disney fans!”
