After A Lengthy Hiatus, The Third Season Of ‘Atlanta’ Finally Receives A Premiere Date

On Halloween, Donald Glover released a cryptic teaser for Atlanta’s third season. Much speculation about what the season may entail began circulating throughout social media, and we now have slightly more information. 

It’s been almost four years since the brilliance of Atlanta has graced us. At last, the third season is officially set to premiere on Thursday, March 24th at 10 p.m. EST on FX, and will be available to stream the next day on Hulu. “We are thrilled to have Atlanta back with a new season on March 24th,” said FX’s President Eric Schrier. “Once again, Donald Glover, the producers and stellar cast have delivered another signature season synonymous with the excellence that makes Atlanta so great.”

Here’s what we know so far, according to the season’s synopsis: “Taking place almost entirely in Europe, Season 3 finds “Earn” (Donald Glover), “Alfred / ‘Paper Boi’” (Brian Tyree Henry), “Darius” (LaKeith Stanfield) and “Van” (Zazie Beetz) in the midst of a successful European tour, as the group navigates their new surroundings as outsiders, and struggle to adjust to the newfound success they had aspired to.” 

We’ve waited nearly the entire length of a college education for a new season, so it’s reasonable to wait a bit longer for an official trailer that will reveal more clues about the crew’s vastly different, but undoubtedly intriguing, life in Europe. 

The first two seasons of Atlanta won five Emmy awards, and is widely acclaimed by critics. It is produced by FX Productions and executive produced by Donald Glover, Stephen Glover, Hiro Murai, Stefani Robinson, Paul Simms, and Dianne McGunigle.
