Listen To Excerpts From President Obama’s New Memoir ‘A Promised Land’
Former President Barack Obama’s latest memoir A Promised Land hits shelves today, November 17th. The transparent memoir details Obama’s political life, and the prime years of his presidency that shaped him. “I want to give an honest reckoning of my time as president,” said Obama.
More specifically, the memoir centers on his political life in Chicago, the decision that led to the killing of terrorist Osama bin Laden during his presidency, and provides insight into his own mind about policy and what it means to be president of the United States. Furthermore, the memoir will give readers a sense of what the Obama family personally went through during their eight years in the White House.
“My goal was to give you some insight into the events and people that shaped me during the early years of my presidency. Most of all, I hope it inspires you to see yourself playing a role in shaping a better world,” Obama said in a tweet announcing the release of his memoir.
