Toni Morrison’s Black Book: Upcoming Exhibition In Honor Of Morrison’s Everlasting Cultural Significance
Toni Morrison’s Black Book is an upcoming group exhibition curated by the Pulitzer Prize-winning critic, author, and curator Hilton Als. Opening January 20th, 2022 at the David Zwirner gallery in New York, the exhibition is an ode to the massive cultural significance of Toni Morrison.
Als states that the exhibition “will add visual components that italicize the beauty and the audacity of her work.” Selected archival materials and work by artists such as Kerry James Marshall, Julie Mehretu, Walter Price, Beverly Buchanan, Garrett Bradley, among others, will be included. Some artworks on view have been commissioned directly for the exhibition and were made in response to Morrision’s writings.
There will also be a fully illustrated catalog published by David Zwirner Books in congruence to the exhibition.
