Trey Clegg, an instructor of music at Spelman College, is widely recognized as one of the most noteworthy talents in the realm of organ performance and choral conducting.
In early 2016, Clegg followed his dream of forming a multicultural chorus featuring highly gifted choral musicians. Having a diverse group of singers encourages and promotes conversations that otherwise may not have been initiated, Clegg explained. “We all know those different from us, but how well do we know them? How well do we know each other’s backgrounds? How well do we know each other’s culture? We may know about them, but do we immerse ourselves in another culture and embrace difference and not run from it?”
Rightfully so, the singers pride themselves in their versatility, performing a wide array of genres remarkably well. Among these are classical, contemporary gospel, and spiritual music. Today, The Trey Clegg Singers are deeply devoted to sharing their diverse music around the world in order to spread the message of harmony, equity, and love across all cultures and walks of life.
The Trey Clegg Singers will host their second annual holiday concert, Festival Sounds of the Season, on December 16th at Morehouse College. For an exceptional musical experience, purchase your tickets here.
